Everyone these days is familiar with the Fit Bit bands, right? I have a couple of coworkers who wear them, and some friends who wear them as well. They seem to really love the Fit Bit, especially now that it can be a watch instead of just a clip. I’ve checked them out off and on, but was never inspired by them enough to really spend the money on one. Enter the Misfit Shine. It’s a little circular disc that runs off of a watch battery, and tracks your activity and sleep patterns. The really cool part is the disc can be worn on your wrist, clipped to your clothes, shoved in a pocket, or even worn as a pendent. You sync it to your smartphone, tablet, iPad, etc. I tend to sync mine 3 times a day to keep up with my steps, and have learned that I average 9500 to 11000 steps a day. Not too shabby, but there’s some room for improvement. My favorite part about the Misfit? It’s waterproof! My family and I are hoping to move to new place, with easy access to a pool some time next month. Crazy pregnant in Georgia, in the hot a humid summer months? Bring on some swim time!
Since I procured a Misfit, I have learned that my sleep patterns are utter crap. I usually get “restful” sleep for an average of 4 hours, and spend the rest of the night tossing and turning. Last night was a record, with only 2 hours and 48 minutes of restful sleep. Since it happens to be my day off today, I’m hoping to get a couple hours of nap time in amongst the usual Friday chores and errands.
So right now I’m chilling out, drinking some mighty fine coffee, while laundry washes and I give the stink eye to the vacuum cleaner. And what’s going through my head? I wonder how many points I’ll get for de-furring the floor and furniture today? Happy running y’all!
And PS – We’re having a girl and a boy.
